Day 1 - Fly to Spain
We depart Cork on our direct scheduled flight to Malaga, Spain. On arrival we are met by our Tour Leader and our local tour guide, then you will be transferred by coach to the 4-Star Sol Principe Hotel where we are based for 7 nights. Dinner tonight and every night is in the Hotel.
Day - 2 Day Trip to Nerja & Malaga
After breakfast, we depart on an excursion to Nerja. This historical seaside town is overlooked by dramatic mountains. It has several beaches set in charming coves between cliffs and has one of the best climates in Europe. The old quarter of the town is virtually unchanged with narrow, winding streets, whitewashed houses with wrought iron terraces overflowing with geraniums. Our afternoon stop is in Malaga. Our local tour guide will take us on a short walking tour of the old part of the city with its impressive Cathedral and Moorish fortress.
Day 3 - Day at Leisure
Enjoy a day of rest and relaxation in Torremolinos. Over the years, Torremolinos has evolved as an attractive and appealing resort, noted for its clean sandy beaches, wide choice of hotels and restaurants and an unparalleled variety of entertainment, activities, and nightlife. There is also a superb selection of shops with very reasonable prices.
Day 4 - Day trip to Gibraltar
Today we depart on an excursion to Gibraltar, located on the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. Gibraltar is famous worldwide for its dramatic Rock. It overlooks the Straits of Gibraltar and is linked to Spain by a narrow isthmus. Gibraltar is imposing but small. It measures less than six square kilometres in total. There is also a colony of the famous apes, the only ones in Europe to run free in a semi-wild state. Look forward to some excellent photo opportunities and indulge in some great duty-free shopping. You will need to bring your passport with you to enter Gibraltar.
Day 5 - Day at Leisure
Another free day to enjoy the resort of Torremolinos. Go shopping on the pedestrianised Calle San Miguel which is at the heart of the town. This smartly paved street is lined with boutiques and shops with a great variety of goods on offer at very reasonable prices.
Day 6 - Day Trip to Ronda
After breakfast, we depart on an excursion to Ronda. Our route through the Sierra Bermeja Mountain range is breathtaking. Ronda is one of the oldest cities in Spain. Its origin, according to archaeological findings in the old city, belongs to the Neolithic age. Ronda is probably best known for its impressive 18th-century bridge, which spans a 100m deep gorge and divides the old and new parts of the town. Ronda is also home to the world’s oldest bullring, which dates to 1785. We return to our hotel in the late afternoon, giving us plenty of time to enjoy this fabulous city.
Day 7 - Day at Leisure
Enjoy another free day in Torremolinos.
Day 8 - Fly Home
After breakfast, we will have free time for some last-minute souvenir shopping or a final trip to the beach before we depart by coach to Malaga airport for our return flight to Cork.
Please note that this is our planned itinerary, but sometimes, due to circumstances outside our control, we may have to alter it slightly.
