Tenerife is the largest of the seven Canary Islands. It enjoys year-round sunshine and warm temperatures, making Tenerife one of Ireland's favourite holiday destinations. The island has a great variety of scenery and is full of stark contrasts, from the golden sandy beaches of the south, the lush green north, to the lunar landscape of the Mount Teide national park. Mount Teide is the largest mountain in Spain and a dormant volcano. Views of the peak can be seen from many of the resorts on the island. Tenerife’s beaches are a mixture of black volcanic sand and imported golden sand. The beaches are dotted mainly around the tourist resorts and typically offer showering facilities, sun beds, parasols, a variety of water sports and snack bars, restaurants either nearby or on the beach itself. Loro Parque is one of the island’s top tourist attractions and provides a great family day out. You can watch a host of animals doing funny tricks and stunts! The park is home to more than a hundred different species of animals and birds, and has its own aquarium. Aqualand Tenerife is a fantastic water park in the south of the island. Kids of all ages are sure to enjoy this, even the grown-up ones! Golf is a very popular pastime on the island. One area where it is particularly popular is Golf del Sur, which is one of Sunway's featured resorts.

Fish lovers will be in heaven on Tenerife thanks to the abundance of local seafood and fresh fish. A huge variety of food can be sampled on the island, be it the traditional local dishes or international cuisine, including Chinese, Italian, and India,n to name just a few.
