About Soldeau, Andorra
Soldeu’s in the middle of the Grandvalira, the biggest ski area in Andorra. The gondola whisks you up to 215km of slopes that are especially suited to beginners and intermediates – starting with the superb ski school at the top of the gondola, where you’ll get good snow and views from day one. More experienced skiers can set out in either direction to explore the rest of the area, then ski back down to Soldeu on tree-lined blue or black runs.
The village is popular with families and those after a little luxury, and everything’s lined up along one central road, meaning it’s really easy to get around. The hotels are mainly rated four or five stars, and many of them have spas and kids’ clubs – so when you’re not skiing, you can spend some time unwinding in the pools and saunas while the little ones have fun with games and soft play.
If you’re looking for something a little livelier, Soldeu’s also got a handful of bars where you can round off your day listening to live music and chatting over drinks with friends.
Activities
- Dog sledding
- Ice skating
- Snowmobiling / skidooing
- Spa away-day

Aprés Ski
Soldeu has a good range of restaurants, mostly based in hotels. For a quick bite, there are also places where you can grab fast food and pizza.
Once you're done skiing for the day, head for one of the bars or clubs to celebrate into the evening. Soldeu is more laid-back than Pas de la Casa, but there are still some lively spots if you know where to look.

Part of the fantastic Sport Hotels Resort, and one of the best hotels in Soldeu, this place mixes a homely feel with a classic mountain look. It's decorated throughout in a traditional alpine style, with loads of warm wood and cosy touches. The rooms mirror this with a bit of a 1970s feel, adding character to your stay.
The jewel in the Sport Resort's crown is the spa – five floors of pools and saunas, and a whole menu of treatments and massages – so it's well worth paying a bit extra to use it. And while you're being pampered, children aged 0 to 13 can have fun in the supervised kids' clubs.
Mealtimes are something else to look forward to. You can dig into a buffet spread every morning and evening, and dinner even comes with show cooking to liven things up. And you should definitely try out the à la carte restaurants here too, to enjoy everything from tapas to sushi.
When it's time to explore the slopes, you won’t have to go far. The gondola station is in the same building as the Sport Village and Sport Hermitage hotels just over the road, and you can get there via an underground passage.
