Tenerife, Canary Islands Holidays
Tenerife is the largest of the Canary Islands and a year-round suntrap, offering a dazzling mix of beaches, volcanic landscapes, family attractions and lively resorts. It’s a brilliant choice for a family holiday, with calm sandy shores for younger children, water parks and wildlife parks for older ones, and scenic drives, cultural towns and top-notch dining for the grown-ups. Whether you're after full days of sun, adventure in nature, or just pure relaxation, Tenerife ticks every box.
With its subtropical climate, Tenerife enjoys warm temperatures and sunshine all year round. Summer highs average around 28°C with plenty of blue skies, while winter remains pleasantly mild with daytime temperatures around 21°C – making it a favourite for both summer holidays and winter escapes.
Food lovers are in for a treat – from traditional Canarian dishes like papas arrugadas with mojo sauce to fresh seafood, tapas and international fare. Choose from beachfront bars, lively restaurants, or elegant spots tucked away in historic towns. Most venues are family-friendly and offer both indoor and al fresco seating to make the most of Tenerife’s glorious weather.
Tenerife is packed with things to do. Head to Siam Park, one of Europe’s best water parks, visit the amazing Loro Parque wildlife park, or ride a cable car to the top of Mount Teide – Spain’s highest peak – for truly jaw-dropping views. The island is also known for its black sand beaches, boat trips to spot dolphins and whales, and excellent hiking in its volcanic national parks.
From the buzzing beaches of Playa de las Américas to the stylish vibe of Costa Adeje, and the charm of traditional towns like La Orotava and Garachico, Tenerife offers a resort to suit every type of traveller. 3* The Harbour Club
In Los Gigantes, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain
The Harbour Club nestles into the cliffs of Los Gigantes, so sweeping sea views from the poolside sun terrace are a given.
This place looks out over the village of Los Gigantes, so you’ll have views of the Atlantic Sea and towering cliffs. And within a five-minute stroll, you’ll find a volcanic beach and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
The two-bedroom apartments have a traditional feel to them, while the one-bedroom apartments are fresh and modern. The kitchens come with built-in hobs, microwaves and ovens.
Just so you know, the Harbour Club is built over two sites in the hilly town. The main pool, bar and restaurant, and the two-bedroom apartments are located in one area, while the one-bedroom apartments are located in another. There's a steep slope – or around 70 steps – separating the one-bedroom apartments from the rest of the hotel facilities.
Rooms
Apartments have a fully-equipped kitchenette, a lounge and an enclosed balcony or terrace. Please note, the two-bedroom apartments are located in the 'Phase 1' area with the hotel reception and facilities, whereas the one-bedroom apartments are located 300m away via a steep slope or around 70 steps. The apartments are cleaned twice per seven-day stay.
Facilities
There’s a rectangular pool with a shallow area sectioned off for kids. Activities-wise, you’ve got ping pong to keep you busy and for little ones there's swingball, too. You’ll also find a hot tub with sweeping sea views, if you fancy a soak. In the evenings, live music is on the cards at the bar, and the restaurant plates up international cuisine.
Location
There are daily boat tours from the port of Los Gigantes. You can go down on the day and see if any spots are available, but it's best to book in advance. Tours last for around three hours and include free drinks and sandwiches. But the real highlight is seeing the magnificent whales and playful dolphins in their natural environment.
