About Val Di Fassa
Get the best of both worlds by staying somewhere small and traditional in the biggest ski area in the world. The seven towns and villages that make up Val di Fassa are part of the 1,220km Dolomiti Superski, and intermediates especially will love the seemingly endless reds and blues. And you can make a day of looping the famous 26km Sella Ronda circuit. If you’re a beginner, stick to a local lift pass and find your feet on the 110km of slopes around Val di Fassa itself. Wherever you ski, you’ll be surrounded by wow-worthy views of the Dolomite mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The culture’s a mix of Italy and Austria, so you can expect authentic hospitality, laid-back après and eat tasty food like pasta, polenta and dumplings.
Val di Fassa is one of our best resorts for families. Lots of its accommodations are close to the lifts and have family facilities, the ski school is easy to get to and there’s plenty to do off the slopes.
Fancy something different to do? Get to grips with climbing walls in Campitello, cheer on the local Fassa Falcons at an ice hockey match in Alba or make waves in the pools and waterslides at the modern Dòlaondes leisure centre in Canazei.
Kids Ski Area
The Baranci mountain station is a great spot for kids. There’s a baby magic carpet with tunnels and obstacles, and more confident skiers can tackle the button lift and the banked slalom.
Activities
- Ice hockey matches
- Indoor ice skating
- Swimming pool
- Cross-country skiing
- Snowshoe walking
Après-Ski
Val di Fassa boasts a great selection of après bars in its villages that attract visitors from other parts of the Sella Ronda and the world. Canazei, in particular, has a lot of unpretentious Austrian-style bars where the atmosphere is always cheerful.
Val di Fassa has an amazing range of restaurants across the different villages. From award-winning haute cuisine to traditional family-run eateries and pizzerias, there's something for everyone. The prices are generally very good too.
