Algarve, Portugal Holidays

The Algarve is spoilt for beaches, its 100 miles of coastline offering a mix of golden stretches of Blue Flag beaches and hidden coves. It’s an ideal spot for a family break, sandy beaches for the little ones and outdoor sports action for the older ones. Take fun in the sun to the next level, with kids’ pools, water parks, and playgrounds too. Come and watch the dolphins in the Algarve in Albufeira or Lagos or enjoy a full-day Jeep safari tour in Portimao, or go on a sea kayaking adventure in Sagres, it’s all there to be enjoyed.

In May, the Algarve region of Portugal enjoys warm and pleasant weather, making it an ideal time for outdoor activities and beach visits. Average daytime high temperatures typically reach around 22°C to 24°C, while nighttime lows can drop to approximately 12°C to 14°C.

Whether you opt for beach bars, casual family meals or gourmet cuisine, you will be delighted with both indoor and al fresco dining options and varied menus to suit the palates of all the members of the family.

The Algarve is now one of Europe’s premier golfing locations with forty two, 9 or 18-hole courses across thirty-five different golf courses. Whether you are looking for a course with stunning views of the coast or one with resort style lakes and bunkers, the Algarve has options for golfers of every standard. Most golf courses are around thirty minutes from Faro airport, around Quinta do Lago and Vilamoura Marina. There are also hidden treasures yet to be discovered, both to the West along the rocky coast and all the way to Sagres, as well as to the quieter East, among whitewashed villages and globally recognised natural reserves full of wildlife.

Portugal’s southernmost region has everything from outdoor activity to stunning Atlantic beaches, eco-adventures, golf, waterparks, picturesque cities, pretty towns and magnificent natural reserves.
