The colonial revival architecture here is different from what you’ll find in other parts of the island. The skyline is low-rise and scattered with greenery.

Inland exploration

You’ll probably choose to stay in one of the beach resorts in the south, or in the shopping haven of Las Palmas in the north. But don’t overlook the beauty of Gran Canaria’s interior. Right in the centre of the island stands Pico de las Nieves, an almost 2000-metre volcanic peak. You can also hike to the Roque Nublo landmark, visit the Pilancones natural park, and walk among butterflies at Palmitos Park.
