Group Ski Holidays 2026!!!
Bansko
There’s a lot to love about Bansko, from the up-to-date lifts to the views of the Pirin National Park. For first-timers, there’s a highly rated ski school and quiet nursery slopes up the mountain where you can practise. Little learners can find their ski legs in the dedicated kids’ zone with its slaloms, obstacles and arches. And if you’re already more experienced, carve down reds near the peak or tackle the Tomba black run – it’s regularly used for world cup races.
It’s a case of new meets old in Bansko itself. The cobbled lanes and terracotta roofs in the UNESCO-protected centre are surrounded by streets lined with bars, clubs and restaurants. It’s a lively place, and with food and drink prices that are much lower than elsewhere in Europe, a good night out is easy on the wallet. It’s more good news for your bank balance when it comes to the accommodation, with great-value, modern stays that wouldn’t look out of place in an exclusive ski resort.
For a true taste of Bulgarian culture, enjoy a folk evening in a mehana – a kind of traditional Balkan pub. And for something to do with younger ones, check out the bowling alley or crack codes and puzzles in an escape room.
4* Hotel Lion Bansko
Bansko, Bulgaria
- Hop on the free shuttle bus to the lifts.
- Relax in the indoor pool, sauna and steam room.
- Swap ski stories by the fire in the lounge.
With its spacious rooms and excellent spa, you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck at the Hotel Lion Bansko. Getting to the slopes is easy-peasy too – just hop on the free hotel shuttle and you’ll be on the mountain in no time.
Once you’ve slipped off your ski boots in the afternoon, it’s time to après. You’re a 10-minute walk from the centre of the resort, but with a lounge and bar right in the hotel, you don’t have far to go to find your favourite tipple. A session on the slopes certainly works up an appetite too, and when it comes to food, you’re in for a treat here. Meals are buffet-style, so load up on platefuls of pizza and pasta for dinner.
As for the décor, there’s a modern, understated feel throughout. There's lots of natural wood and stone in the lounge and dining room, with plenty of comfy armchairs dotted here and there. And upstairs in the bedrooms, the neutral colour scheme, big beds and crisp linen give off calming vibes, just right for getting a good night's sleep.
