Arinsal, Andorra
Arinsal’s the main resort in the Pal Arinsal ski area. The high-altitude nursery slopes mean beginners should get good snow conditions and mountain views from day one. And with lots of gentle greens and blues nearby, as well as one of the best English-speaking ski schools in Europe, you’ll be confidently cruising in no time. For more of a challenge, you can catch the cable car over to the Pal side of the mountain for longer runs and steeper reds.
Set in a wooded valley, the village is filled with stone buildings built either side of a small river. Things get livelier here from the mid-afternoon as people come down off the mountain. Head to the bustling main street to join the après action and dance along to live music in one of the great-value bars. And for a few hours of family-friendly fun, you can’t beat the bowling alley and games arcade in the Hotel Princesa Parc, which is open to non-guests for a small charge.
Arinsal’s one of our best resorts for families. Lots of its accommodations are close to the lifts and have family facilities, the ski school is easy to get to and there’s plenty to do off the slopes.
Aprés Ski
Arinsal has a great range of places to eat, and lots of traditional restaurants serving a wide range of specialities. Its links to Spain and proximity to France have also influenced the type of cuisine, so you can always find something to please your taste buds. Most restaurants are on the main Carretera General thoroughfare.
Arinsal is home to a decent après scene with good value for money. You'll find a lot of promoters waiting for you at the bottom of the gondola, some offering free snacks and drinks to tempt you into their venue.
Kids & Families
Pal Arinsal ski school childcare
The baby club and snow garden can be found at the bottom of the nursery slope.
• Babysitting service available for ages 1-4 years.
• Instructors on hand to help kids aged 4-8 years in the snow garden.
• Flexible hours for childcare available.
• Look out for the friendly mascot, Pocoyó.
When the lifts stop the fun doesn't end. The bowling alley and games arcade under the hotel Princesa Parc will keep you entertained whether you’re aged 6 or 60. For youngsters who want more winter thrills, head to El Planell in the Pal part of the ski area for tubing and snowmobile rides.
