7 Nights

As the air fills with the salsa beats of San Juan, our Caribbean exploration begins. Weave together the rich histories and vibrant cultures on your voyage, beginning with the Dutch delights of Philipsburg. Swim, hike and zipline through energetic St. John’s, then absorb the majesty of nature and the resilience of Monstserrat’s volanic landscape in Little Bay. Pause at Road Town and dot through the British Virgin Islands before sailing to the culture and dynamic energy of Miami.
Day 1 San Juan, Puerto Rico
Explore the oldest US city for a dose of Caribbean history, slice of Spanish culture and twist of American dream. Roam historic Old San Juan alleyways to glimpse centuries-old forts and colourful colonial buildings. Learn how to move, as locals sashay out the salsa to rhythmic reggae beats. Shop the boho streets or glamorous boutiques for artisan goods, decadent designers and hand-rolled cigars. Experience world-class surfing, explore a tropical rainforest, attend a private rum cocktail tasting and polish off empanadas. Then retire to one of the beautiful beaches to soak up crystal clear waters and, perhaps, one last rum cocktail.
Day 2 Philipsburg , Sint Marteen
Princely Philipsburg reigns as the capital of the Dutch side of the dual-nation island of Sint Maarten/ and French Saint Martin. Lounging beside aptly named Great Bay, the seaside city weaves colourful streets lined with Dutch emporiums brimming with chocolates, cheeses and coveted luxuries. Kayak lapis-blue waters, dive amongst a kaleidoscope of reefs or gallop on horseback along shaded plantation trails. Play ‘lady luck’ in winning casinos or a round of golf beside an eternally blue sea. Every moment embraces the idea that a day in Philipsburg is royal.
Day 3 St. John's (Antigua), Antigua and Barbuda
An adrenaline rush awaits. Swim with stingrays. Zip-line through lush forests. Walk across a gorge on a scenic suspension bridge. Sip excellent aged rums. Taste the island with a chef. Or stroll St. John's old town to tour cottages laden with cheerful fretwork. Explore British forts atop Shirley Heights and Goat Hill. Then rest and rejuvenate at one of the snow-white beaches.
Day 4 Little Bay, Montserrat
Diminutive in stature but big on ambition, Little Bay is a testament to the resilience of Montserrat, where the 1997 eruption of Soufrière Hills Volcano turned fairy-tale capital Plymouth to ash. Today, a new city rises amid the emerald folds and transcendent beaches of the northern coast, where coral gardens bloom in Caribbean currents and humpback whales weave between the waves. Jungle hikes and kayaking adventures are rewarded with sublime sunsets in tropical beach bars that pay homage to the island’s musical legacy. Venture to the ruins of Plymouth and stand humbled before skeletal buildings submerged in a torrent of volcanic debris, then discover the forces of nature at the Montserrat Volcano Observatory for up-close views of the monstrous crater.
Day 5 Road Town (Tortola), British Virgin Islands
A tropical utopia with soaring peaks for climbing, waves for surfing, wrecks for snorkelling, and cocktails with locally sourced rum. All around Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, are streets lined with brightly coloured buildings built during the days of colonial Dutch and British rule. Check out Pusser’s Painkiller Bar for a namesake punch before venturing into the humid embrace of the high-canopied forest of Sage Mountain. Beyond are adventures at every turn; zip-line through treetops; dive coral-laden lagoons, explore jungles with 4x4’s, or lounge on countless postcard-perfect beaches. And, since this is the so-called “sailing capital of the Caribbean,” don’t miss catching a catamaran navigating to a scattering of uninhabited islands.
Day 6 and 7 At Sea
With more time to reflect, rejuvenate, and embrace the Ocean State of Mind, days at sea with Explora Journeys invite moments of unhurried exploration. Against a backdrop of endless blue, indulge in a varied programme of wellness, dining and entertainment, enriching the mind and indulging the senses, designed to satisfy even the most curious of minds. These moments at sea offer a rare chance to disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with yourself and your loved ones. With so many onboard experiences, each day at sea is unique and memorable.
Day 8 Miami, United States
Welcome to Miami and the sweep of South Beach - backdrop to every iconic Miami movie, and forefront of Latin American culture. Stroll through pastel-hued geometric buildings in the art deco district, to graffiti mural masterpieces at Wynwood Walls. Watch Latino life unfold in Little Havana - the heartbeat of this great city - where walk-up windows sell café cortadito, sweet sugarcane juice, hatuey beer and guava ice-cream. Watch passionate locals discuss politics, play dominoes and smoke cigars. Shimmy at a salsa class, shop designer boutiques and race marlin and sharks by speedboat. Then slow your pace to uncover rare and endangered species at the Everglades National Park outdoor oasis. You’ll find the Miami dream is real – and it’s not just Cuban heels that will give you a spring in your step.
