Phuket Holidays

Party resorts, sleepy beaches and wild jungle – holidays to Phuket tick a load of different boxes.

Full package Phuket

Holidays to Phuket come in all shapes and sizes. Ice-white beaches – all 40 kilometres of them – are some of the biggest draws on Thailand’s largest island, but it’s not just the coast that’s stacked. Head away from the shore and you’ll stumble across an inland that’s stuffed with jungles and national parks – and that’s before mentioning the capital, Phuket Town. Early-morning markets and beeping tuk tuks bring this place to life, and its old town’s a smorgasbord of architectural styles.

Bucketloads of beaches

Beaches are Phuket’s forte, and whether you like your sunbathing sessions laidback or lively, this place has all the angles covered. Mai Khao Beach is protected as part of the Sirinat National Park, so you can grab a spot anywhere along its 11-kilometre-long stretch of sand and chill out in peace. At the other end of the scale, Patong Beach is backed up by a strip of bars that’s heaving morning, noon and night. Kata and Karon are somewhere in the middle – watersports are the big draws here, with quirky souvenir shops and lively restaurants just behind the sands.

Jungle jaunts

If beaches are the icing around the edges of Phuket’s cake, then think of its jungles as the filling. Two national parks make up the island’s interior. In the northwest, you’ve got Sirinat – a coastal spot with an 11-kilometre-long stretch of sand where you can get close-ups of the planes coming in to land at the nearby airport. Head east, meanwhile, and you’ll find Khao Phra Thaeo, where you can trek to waterfalls and gawp at gibbons.

Party in Patong Beach

Phuket’s most popular resort is the liveliest place on the island and a prime pick for partygoers. By day, the three-kilometre-long stretch of beach is a hive of watersports, backed up by street-food carts and market stalls. Come night-time, you can turn your attention to Bangla Road. There are more than 100 bars dotted around here, from karaoke bars to nightclubs, while the Bangla Boxing Stadium puts on Muay Thai fights three times a week.

Elephant Hills Thailand

Elephant Hills are Thailand’s first Luxury Tented Jungle Camps, combining the camp idea of African national parks with the Thai tropical forest environment of our elephant park. We offer 2-4 day nature soft adventure tours in and around the stunningly beautiful Khao Sok National Park area with luxury tents for nighttime accommodations.

The Elephant Camp comprises tailor-made luxury tents and has successfully been operated for over 20 years, becoming a popular destination for family vacations. The Lake Camp, one of the world’s only luxury floating tented camps, was opened in 2011 and is situated on the emerald green waters of Cheow Lan Lake.

Both camps are situated in the Khao Sok National Park in Southern Thailand, approximately two hours apart from each other, close to famous beaches and honeymoon destinations like Phuket, Khao Lak, Krabi, and Koh Samui. To facilitate travels to Elephant Hills Luxury Tented Camps and elephant park, all transfers to and from Elephant Hills are included in the tour packages and honeymoon packages. For further information on this, please read our Transfer Policy.

In addition to transfers, all Elephant Hills tours are fully inclusive of luxury tents accommodation, activities, and meals as well as the services of an English-speaking, fully trained, TAT-licensed tour guide.

Due to ethical reasons, we do not offer elephant riding at Elephant Hills. Instead, you will get to feed and interact with Asia’s largest land animal during our unique, award-winning Elephant Experience at our elephant park.

When visiting Elephant Hills’ nature park, please also consider participating in our Children’s Project. Hundreds of local schoolchildren will be absolutely delighted if you do.

Khao Lak Holidays

Holidays to Khao Lak showcase Thailand's native side. This part of the country is characterised by unspoilt beaches, virgin forests and world-class scuba diving spots.

Thailand’s southwest coast

On Thailand’s southwest coast, Khao Lak is in the business of recharging batteries. The beaches are completely unfurnished, so all you get is long runways of powdery white sand. And the waters here attract scuba divers from around the world.

A hat-trick of national parks

It’s not just the coastline that deserves your attention, though. Three national parks nuzzle up to Khao Lak’s shore. The most popular is Khao Lak Lam Ru National Park, which spans 125 square kilometres and is made up of mangroves, waterfalls, jungle and 1,000-metre-high hills.

Bolthole accommodation

Accommodation in Khao Lak doesn’t stray far from the beach. Most of the hotels have been designed to blend into the natural environment, so they’re camouflaged from view. It’s in these boltholes that most of the evening entertainment happens, too. Traditional Thai meals are served in sea-view restaurants and cocktails are sipped in sand-side bars.

Bang La On

That’s not to say there’s nothing going on outside the hotels. Khao Lak’s centre, known as Bang La On, has a handful of restaurants and bars, where you can get everything from French cuisine to shisha pipes.
