Izmir is located at the beginning of a long and narrow gulf full of yachts and passenger ships. It’s probably the most laid-back commercial city in Turkey. The restaurants and cafes located by the seaside are packed with people during lunch breaks and after work, and during summer months. Out of all the cities in Turkey, Izmir is the most modern one, and it is where the Christians, Muslims and Jews live together.
Kusadasi is set in a superb gulf in the Aegean region of Turkey and is known for its turquoise sparkling water of the Sea, broad sandy beaches, bright sun and large marina. A glorious ancient city stands beside it, Ephesus. Kusadasi is not far from Izmir (only 80 kilometers). There are also many hostels, discos, bars, cafes, pubs and "Turkish Nights".
