On the third day, you join the original inland route and press on through beautiful forests, valleys and farmlands, not to mention towns and cities of great cultural importance. This route has only recently been officially recognised and is therefore yet to be truly explored.

Stages:

• Baiona – Vigo (24 km)

• Vigo – Arcade (23.3 km)

• Arcade – Pontevedra (11.9 km)

• Pontevedra – Caldas de Reis (23 km)

• Caldas de Reis – Padrón (18.5 km)

• Padrón – Santiago de Compostela (25.2 km)

Highlights:

• Enjoying the breathtaking views of the southern Galician coastline

• Winding your way through an unspoilt countryside of wooded trails, secluded valleys and rolling farmlands.

• Exploring the rich medieval heritage of the towns and cities along the way.

• Sampling the region’s famous white wines (Ribeiro, Albariño) and seafood dishes.

• Reflecting on your journey in the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, then soaking up the vibrant atmosphere of the city’s historic quarter.
